My grandmother was a teacher and book lover. Having no means to buy books as a student, she would transcribe them. That's how she developed beautiful penmanship. When she became a widow, she partly supported her 9 children by marking diplomas and taking written commissions. In my childhood, she regaled me and her other grandkids with encouraging words, lovely written everywhere possible. That's how my love for calligraphy was planted.
My love for words was further reinforced by my other side of the family. We come from a place in the world where there is a unique social role called palabrero. This is a wise man charged with solving conflicts among families or communities through the use of the word, listened and spoken. In a world where violence seems to be the main means to settle conflicts, knowing of the existence of the palabreros is comforting and inspiring.
So here I am, proudly offering my legacy to help you create the tools you need to share your words with authenticity and beauty.
